Excusing your child’s absence

Your next steps

1. Check in the statute the deadline and channel for excuses (often the e-gradebook).
2. Give the dates and a general reason; medical details are not required.
3. For a longer absence, ask how to catch up on material and tests.
4. Keep a copy of the message you send.
5. Remember: missing more than half of a subject’s lessons may leave the pupil ungraded and require a classification exam.
